The government is requiring for IT hardware and software commodities, including services to all federal, state, local agencies buying from GSA’s IT Schedule 70 program. The Second-Generation Information Technology (2GIT) BPAs will contain attributes not found in other IT commodity acquisition solutions within the Federal Government. In addition, the contract includes strategic sourcing attributes such as data collection and reporting, and is based on direct customer feedback.

The Government is willing to use a purchasing mechanism that functions better and is more cost-effective. Therefore, contracting and open market costs including the search for sources; the development of technical documents and solicitations; and the evaluation of offers will be eliminated.

General Services Administration intends to establish Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) BPAs against the GSA IT Schedule 70 contract that will include software, products, and other services.
