The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Information Technology Supplies and Support Services (ITSSS) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) will expire in October 2018. After 8 years, since October 2010 when this multi-award requirement was awarded, the bureau is considering to issue a re-compete solicitation for this $30 billion worth opportunity, as being reflected in an FBO Special Notice announcement, on November 6, 2017. It is estimated that the full RFP will be released in March 2018.

FBI IT Triple – S contract, as is referred to in FBO website, is designed to fulfill U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), FBI’s continuing requirement for Information Technology Supplies and Support Services (IT-SSS). Some of these needed services are in the following area:

Hardware and Software and Related Services
This task relates to common duties that are performed in organizations by system administrators (SA), database administrators (DBA), engineers and architects.

Operations and Maintenance
Operations and Maintenance (O&M) relates to the activities involved in the performance of routine, preventive, predictive, scheduled and unscheduled actions aimed at preventing equipment failure or decline with the goal of increasing efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Technical and Development
Technical and Development related activities are broad-scoped by definition and range from prototypes and proofs of concept completely functional and field systems, to rapid application development, joint application development, agile methodologies, object-oriented approaches and enterprise architecture development.

Other Administrative and technical services
These range of activities include Training, Studies, and Research, White Paper development, Briefings, development of Template documents as well as Project support related initiatives.
The legacy of this contract included 46 awards. Although there are many details yet to be developed and decided on by the customer agency, this procurement effort, does seem to be a lucrative opportunity for all IT companies that meet the requirements for NAICS code 541519, Other Computer Related Services, Size Standard: $27.5 million annual receipts, with exception to firms with 150 Employees for Information Technology Value Added Resellers.
