Background

Requirements

  • The Contractor shall provide the following:
    • Constructs a 407,000 SF, multi-level, steel-framed structure with concrete exterior walls, a modified bitumen roof, and pile foundation system. The engine repair facility will include maintenance spaces, personnel support spaces, and administrative areas to support new F135 workload (F-35 Engine). It is expected to be on pile foundations. This project will also demolish and relocate Navy Band Facility, facility 12.
    • Facility-related control systems include cybersecurity features in accordance with current Department of Defense (DoD) criteria.
    • This project will provide Antiterrorism (AT) features and comply with applicable service and Geographic Combatant Commander policies and directive per UFC 4-010-01 DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings. The AT line-item includes standard force protection measures such as mass notification systems, and emergency lighting and signage.
    • Built-in equipment includes 66 bridge cranes (36 x 3-ton dual-hoist, 4 x 5-ton , and 36 x 2-ton dual-hoist), crane rails, Automated Storage Retrieval System, and passenger elevator.
