Requirements

The contractor shall staff two (2) Advanced Life Support units simultaneously services 24 hours per day, seven (7)- days a week for 365 day a year to include all holidays.  Contractor care shall cover the full range of Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic and Ambulance Services provided in the local community to include but not limited to patient transport in four (4) categories of patients:

  • Critical Care (CC)
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).

Patients shall be transferred from identified patient pick-up location to the MTF on Joint Base Andrews. The Service area of responsibility for the contractor is anticipated to be within a fifty (50)-mile radius of Joint Base Andrews for patient transport missions located in the State of Maryland, the Commonwealth of Virginia or the District of Columbia. All services shall be in accordance with the requirements of professional standards of the Maryland Department of Transportation and any applicable Federal standards or requirements.

Due to unknown traffic conditions surrounding the DMV and to ensure expected pick-up/delivery times can be realistically that will be defined within the forthcoming RFP, the contractor’s operational support facility should be located within thirty (30)-miles of JBA.
