Located in Port Hueneme, Calif., Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) employs more than 2,500 engineers, scientists, technicians, logisticians, and support personnel who provide America’s Naval surface fleet with integration, test, and evaluation, life-cycle engineering, and product support for today’s and tomorrow’s warfare systems.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) maintains technical expertise at locations across the United States: Engineering and Logistics at Port Hueneme, California; Search Radar Engineering at Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Live Fire Testing at White Sands, New Mexico. Port Hueneme Division is recognized as the Navy’s Center of Excellence for In-Service Engineering,

Test and Evaluation, and Integrated Logistics Support for surface warfare combat and weapon systems. Since its inception in 1963, Port Hueneme Division, has been supporting the combat and weapon systems of the Fleet by providing highly skilled personnel and state-of-the-art facilities to lead the development and support of Navy surface ship warfare systems throughout their life cycles.

Port Hueneme Division is focusing its technical capabilities on Next Generation In-Service Engineering, which involves direct connectivity to the Fleet on a global basis and the immediate availability of round-the-clock access to products, services, and Fleet support capabilities. Next Generation In-Service Engineering will support predictive system failure, remote diagnostics, and corrective action via real-time, networked communications.

Requirements

The contractor shall:

  • Provide support in researching, developing, testing, and evaluating of new and emerging technology for potential insertion into current and future programs to satisfy mission requirements based on a business case analysis (e.g., cloud services or Big Data analysis).
  • Provide support for the command’s computing environment that supports the NSWC PHD Command Corporate and Research, Development, Test and Evaluations (RDT&E) infrastructures (both unclassified and classified up to and including Secret), and Secure Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNET).
  • Provide technical support to customers for current and future systems/applications (e.g. server infrastructure, network infrastructure, storage infrastructure, end user workstations, thin-clients, virtual machines, CISCO, HP, NetApp).
  • Perform installation, configuration, operational, and advanced troubleshooting of standards-based IT hardware, software and ancillary data center equipment.
  • Provide Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAM) support.
  • Provide technical input/assistance, implementation guidance, and assistance with IT hardware infrastructure design, system topology, and application of DoD Information Assurance policies for securing environments in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).
  • Ensure the NSWC PHD computing environment is monitored and maintained to ensure compliance with the current and future directives, guidance, and Standard Operating procedures.
