Background

NSWCPD Code 511 is responsible for Engineering Control Systems (ECS) for the Landing Platform Dock (LPD) and Landing Ship Medium (LSM), formerly known as Light Amphibious Warship (LAW) ship classes.

NSWCPD Code 515 is responsible for providing full acquisition design and life cycle engineering to the Amphibious Assault class, CG-47, Aegis Ashore and other surface combatant vessel Machinery Control Systems (MCS), including software and hardware support and R&D design development, for the United States Navy.
