Requirements

  • The proposed project generally includes construction of a new outlet works at Arkabutla Dam and abandonment/closure of the existing outlet works once the new outlet is in operation.
  • The work consists of replacing two (2) existing cooling towers and auxiliary pumps with in-kind replacements at the Tensas-Cocodrie Pumping Plant in Monterey, Louisiana.
  • The new cooling towers shall meet, at a minimum, the performance metrics of the OEM equipment.
  • Contractor shall flush and replace the circulating water of the existing, 400- gallon, closed-loop cooling tower system. The circulating water shall be 50% ethylene glycol.
  • Contractor is responsible for removing existing equipment and anchoring the new cooling towers and auxiliary equipment into place. The cooling towers shall be anchored as recommended by the equipment manufacturer and must resist wind loads up to 30 psf. acting on the full vertical projected area with 16 psf. acting simultaneously on the full horizonal projected area.
  • Contractor shall demo existing pipes and electrical conduit. New conduit and stainless-steel piping shall be installed. Electrical shall be reconnected to the new cooling towers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Scaffolding and insulation shall be installed on new piping going to both cooling towers and auxiliary equipment
