Requirements

  • The purpose of this contract is to provide for the operation and maintenance of eight LMSR vessels. The Army Prepositioning Ships (APS) vessels, USNS WATSON (T-AKR 310), USNS RED CLOUD (T-AKR 313), USNS CHARLTON (T-AKR 314), USNS WATKINS (T-AKR 315), USNS POMEROY (T-AKR 316), and USNS SODERMAN (T-AKR 317), are employed in the worldwide prepositioning of Government cargo, including but not limited to: hazardous, explosive/ammunition, vehicular, bulk, and general cargoes.
  • USNS SISLER (T-AKR 311) and USNS DAHL (T-AKR 312) are Marine Corps LMSRs (MPF) and have a slightly different configuration in support of mission requirements specific to the United States Marine Corps and have NAVAIR certified flight decks. The ships may also be used for other Government missions, or in the absence of a defined mission, may be placed in reduced operating status (ROS) as directed. The ships shall be operated in a professional manner, maintained in good condition, and shall be mission-ready at all times.
