Requirements

  • The Department of Labor (DOL) is seeking information from commercial and Federal sources on their capacity to act as Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs)/Managed Detection and Response (MDR) to Security Operation Centers (SOCs)
  • DOL defines SOCs as being facilities where enterprise information systems (web sites, applications, databases, data centers and servers, networks, desktops, and other endpoints) are monitored, assessed, and defended
  • SOCs are responsible for ensuring that potential cybersecurity incidents are correctly detected, assessed, responded to, contained, remediated, and reported
  • DOL defines an MSSP/MDR as being a company that would take over the day-to-day management of all or a portion of the SOC function
  • Detection response time is critical to this effort. The Department of Labor (DOL) has a complex and demanding mission
  • To assist in meeting that mission, DOL needs robust and effective systems
  • This request for information will provide useful information on available software solutions and services to support that mission
