Background

The T-34C aircraft is a single-engine, two-place (tandem seat), un-pressurized, low-wing, monoplane manufactured by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC). The aircraft is powered by a PT6A-25 turbo-prop engine, flat rated at 550 shaft horsepower (shp), manufactured by Pratt & Whitney Canada. T-34C aircraft assigned to assorted satellite sites are used for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) projects; range clearance and coordination; tactical strike observations; pilot proficiency; and as competitive exercise observer platforms. There are approximately 16 T-34C aircraft as depicted in the table below. The Government reserves the right to increase or decrease aircraft inventory under this contract to meet the Navy’s mission. Except as necessary, the T-34C will be referred to as the “T-34” throughout the remainder of this document.

Requirements

  • The Contractor shall provide Organizational (O) level, Intermediate (I) level and, when approved by the Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO), on site T-34 Depot (D) level maintenance, modifications, and logistics support including labor, services, real property, equipment and direct and indirect material, except as provided by the Government, required to support and maintain T-34 aircraft and related support equipment (SE). The Government reserves the right to furnish on site D-Level support when deemed necessary. The Contractor shall provide the above support for T-34 aircraft at various satellite sites listed in PWS paragraph 1.1. The Contractor shall provide the above support for aircraft at NAS Corpus Christi, TX. The Contractor shall maintain the T-34 and aircraft in accordance with (IAW) Applicable Documents (Attachment 06). The Contractor shall maintain, service and repair avionics, airframes, power plants and related components, and overhaul aircraft engines, propellers, avionics and related components. All repair and overhaul performed off-site shall be IAW Attachment 06 and using Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified personnel and facilities with proper ratings and certifications applicable to the work being performed.
  • The Contractor shall provide O-Level maintenance at NAS Corpus Christi (NASCC), NAS Whiting Field (NASWF) and NAS Pensacola (NASP). The Contractor shall provide on-site T-6 D-Level maintenance, modifications, and logistics support at all sites as approved by the ACO/Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO). The Contractor shall operate, inspect, maintain and repair the T-6 aircraft IAW Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) publications Interim Operating Supplements (IOS), Interim Rapid Action Change (IRAC), Service Instructions (SI) and Technical Directives (TD). The Government will provide material and equipment including Special Tools and Special Test Equipment support
