Requirements

  • The Kelso-Cima and South Kelbaker Road improvements consist of full depth reclamation of the existing pavement with placement of new asphalt pavement, increasing the roadway width to a consistent 26 feet, minor horizontal/vertical roadway realignment (reconstruction) in select areas, reinforcing 48 low water crossings (11 on South Kelbaker Road and 37 on Kelso-Cima Road), and improving safety with longitudinal and transverse mumble strips, signing, pavement markings, and paved pullouts. Low water crossings typically consist of buried concrete barriers with riprap revetment.
  • The Morningstar Mine Road improvements consist of full depth reclamation of the existing pavement and placement of surface-course aggregate. Work also includes realignment of Kelso-Cima Road at the Cima Road/Morningstar Mine Road intersection.
