Requirements

  • This project is Phase 1 of the renovation of Building 410 to improve the heating and cooling, add improved fire protection and address life safety issues. Building 410 is the First Army Division West Headquarters and provides administrative facilities for unit personnel functions. The 124,817 square foot three level building consists of offices, conference rooms, classrooms, weapon vaults, fitness area, showers and supporting function mechanical, electrical, and communication rooms. Building 410 is made up of four independent building quadrants with a central courtyard.
  • Upgrade of the building HVAC system to include replacement of building chillers and boilers and replacement of external cooling tower. Upgrade 3rd floor HVAC to include upgrade of HVAC systems, routing of new ductwork, hydronic piping in overheads, and expansion of specific mechanical rooms. Install new fire suppression system capable of supporting the whole building including a new fire riser system, sprinklers will only be installed on the third floor. Other work to include incidental work on the third floor only such as new acoustic ceilings and lighting plan, upgrade of specific doors and door hardware to STC 50 rating.
  • The third floor will not be occupied during construction, but the remainder of the building will be occupied and systems must remain operational.
