Requirements

  • This replacement project is for the replacement of approximately 1,600 linear feet of floodwall that only includes the northern and middle segments. This project will involve the following types of work: demolition of existing concrete structures as well as the existing L-shaped floodwall; traffic control; disposal of demolished concrete and construction debris; removal of old railroad scale pit; excavation of earthen material; removal of wooden timber piles; installation of sheet piles; dewatering, access roads, and excavation of a riverside borrow pit; clearing and grubbing; offroad hauling and temporary storage of borrow material; installation of wick drains; deployment of temporary flood protection system during demolition and at openings as required using filled gabion baskets; fabrication of steel swing gate; installation of a new reinforced inverted T concrete floodwall; concrete slope paving; turf establishment; asphalt and concrete pavement; and leak testing of swing gates.
