Requirements

  • Intelligence
    • Current Intelligence and Operations Support
      • Current intelligence support to the MDA Executives, Program Elements, and other Agency two letter organizations and MDA staff and partners across the missile defense community
    • Program Engagement Support
      • MDA assigns an Intelligence Division staff member, referred to as a Portfolio Manager, to a program element to ensure identification, understanding and satisfaction of their particular intelligence requirements
      • The Intelligence Requirements Division compiles threat information and reviews Intelligence Community (IC)-produced Threat Modules to provide validated intelligence documents used for horizontal integration into all phases of the acquisition cycle across all Missile Defense System (MDS) programs
      • Requirements Management identifies, defines, coordinates, develops, submits, manages, and reports on MDA intelligence requirements
      • Data management involves the maintenance of multiple repositories for the Division, including unclassified and classified portals
      • The Intelligence Requirements Division occupies SCIFs at all four geographic locations and SCIF management includes physical security and operations support at these locations
    • Technical Intelligence Engineering
      • The Intelligence Division provides the conduit between the IC and the MDA for all intelligence-based technical information and coordinates all MDA requirements with the responsible entities across the IC
    • Threats to the System
      • The Intelligence Division gathers and integrates IC data on worldwide cyber and EW threat trends relevant to the MDS; focus is on cyber/EW threats designed to create a contested environment to deny, degrade, and/or defeat the MDS
  • Counterintelligence (CI)
    • The CI division executes CI activities to detect, identify, assess, exploit, penetrate, degrade, and counter or neutralize foreign intelligence collection efforts, sabotage, espionage, and terrorist activities directed against the MDA, its personnel, information, material, facilities and activities
      • CI activities: CI incident assessments, support to operations, collection, analysis and production, and defensive functional services
      • The requirements cover support to the CI Division for defensive activities involving current and emerging foreign intelligence, terrorism (transnational and domestic), and criminal threats to the MDS and MDA equities worldwide
