Requirements

The work under this project consists of providing all material, equipment, and labor necessary for maintaining base paved areas. The work may include, but is not limited to, the following: excavation; surface preparation; placing base course; asphaltic concrete and overlays; sealing of pavement; repair of existing concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, airfield pavement slabs and spalls; repair of airfield box drains; removal of paint from airfield and base pavements; painting of stripes on airfield and base pavements. Airfield paving projects have additional work requirements detailed in UFGS 32?12?14.13 Concrete Paving for DoD Airfields and UFGS 32?12?15.13 Asphalt Paving for DoD Airfields. Painting of airfield pavements shall conform to the requirements of Air Force Instructions (AFI) 32?1042, STANDARDS FOR MARKING AIRFIELDS and Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency Engineering Technical Letter 04?2 (See Attachment 2). AFI 32?1041 Airfield Facility Requirements and Base Operations guidance must also be accomplished. Also included in the contract will be placing new sidewalks, new concrete curb and gutter, resetting of manholes and catch basins as required, and pothole repairs. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with contract documents and most recent Federal and state regulations. Work will be located on Joint Base Langley Eustis, Virginia locations.
