Background

The NSWC Crane EP Branch ensures compliance with all United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), Department of Defense (DOD), Secretary of Navy (SECNAV), and Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEASYSCOM) and local (NSACRANE and NSWCCRANE) environmental requirements.

The NSWC Crane EP Branch is responsible for managing and implementing five major environmental operating permits, generating and submitting environmental permit applications, conducting regulatory environmental inspections, overseeing and conducting environmental sampling and field/lab testing (analysis), developing regulatory agency reports, conducting Industrial Waste services including waste containerization and shipment for disposal; and maintaining, updating, and implementing an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System on behalf of NSA Crane. The NSWC Crane EP Branch is also responsible for identifying and implementing studies and regulatory requirements for emerging mission activities.

Requirements

The contractor shall provide services to meet the following:

  • Program and technical support services to the Environmental Protection (EP) Branch within the Infrastructure Division as Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane).
  • NSWC Crane is a tenant activity within the Naval Support Activity Crane (host) fence line at Crane, Indiana.
  • This support encompasses scientific/engineering analysis and studies, program and technical support services, technical data support, and data management support.
