Keeping the heat on NASA’s SEWP Bowl
Introduction
NASA’s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) is a United States Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) authorized by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and managed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The SEWP Program Office manages a suite of government-wide IT products and services contracts that enable NASA and all Federal Agencies to achieve their missions and strategic initiatives by providing streamlined access to critical technologies and solutions.
Previous Rounds
SEWP has had several previous rounds, with the original contract being awarded in 1993. SEWP II was awarded in 1996, SEWP III in 2001, SEWP IV in May 2007, and SEWP V in May 2015. The next round, SEWP VI, is slated for 2025.
Who Can Participate?
All federal agencies, including the Department of Defense (DOD), and government contractors are able to purchase ICT and AV solutions (equipment and services) from SEWP-authorized resellers (known as “Contract Holders”). Through SEWP, NASA wants to have a few contract holders who can then funnel access to all of the companies that may have products or services to offer. Getting a place on SEWP is as simple as a business to business relationship.
How to Participate
The recommended method for participating in SEWP is using the SEWP Quote Request Tool (QRT) available on the SEWP Website (sewp.nasa.gov). Use of this tool assists in providing and documenting Fair Opportunity and verifying and assuring items quoted are on the contract and properly priced. All SEWP quotes and orders MUST go through the SEWP Bowl.
